Why does great Investor Relations matter?
Building a successful company needs supportive stakeholders. Not just capital providers like shareholders and lenders, but employees and customers too - the lifeblood of any business. Commercial partners, contractors and regulators can also be vital.
Whether actively fundraising or not, the need for great IR never goes away. Done right, it’s a no-regrets process: accelerating growth, strengthening key relationships, supporting valuation and expanding financing options, while also building resilience for the inevitable bumps in the road.
What makes great IR?
We define it as the 3Cs: clarity, consistency and connectivity.
It’s about delivering clear, engaging messages and metrics, consistently and convincingly, to build broad and deep connections with key stakeholders.
How does an IR advisor add value?
We provide the specific input and resources you need to really set your business apart, deliver impactful investor engagements and thereby achieve your fundraising goals. In the struggle for quality attention, our primary purpose is to ensure you convince key audiences of your value. Then we help you sustain and enhance this value over time and efficiently manage the diverse demands of your investors on your shared journey.
Can’t a broker, bank or PR company cover all that?
Our service is different - focusing specifically on your investor and key stakeholder relationships - and is often complementary to financial advisory roles provided by others. At the same time, as an independent consultancy, we are very flexible and can work with very early or formative-stage ventures which may not fit the onboarding criteria of other advisors.
Couldn’t we just use AI to support our IR needs?
AI is changing the future of work in exciting ways. However, creating and sustaining a diverse array of top-quality output that delivers the highly IR specific needs of each business is a very nuanced and specialist activity. It requires deep human judgement and skill derived from extensive real-world practice. AI offers a set of increasingly useful tools rather than a replacement of the meaningful human relationships that underpin successful IR.
How do you charge?
We are not a prescriptive, one-size-fits-all offering - we prefer to work out mutually agreeable remuneration structures that incentivise us to deliver value where you need it most. Each client has different needs and resources, so we pride ourselves on flexibility and aligning incentives appropriately.
How do we know we’ll get enough attention?
As a specialist consultancy, focusing on doing a really great job matters more to us than simply expanding our client base. Your engagement comes with high expectations and likewise we demand the best of ourselves.
What are your corporate values?
We follow three core principles throughout our work:
Initiative: Go the extra mile for maximum impact from every engagement
Insight: Provide consistently high-value inputs
Integrity: Challenge constructively when suitable, while protecting your reputation at every step
